Q: How does the b-Calm™ system and AudioSedation Technology work?
| A: | The audio signals of the b-Calm™ system have been specifically designed for the dental environment. They work by disguising the sound of the dental drill and other hand pieces to make them unrecognizable to the human ear. These signals are carefully blended into live high-fidelity recordings of nature to yield a soothing audio experience. Q: What makes b-Calm™ different from a typical .mp3 player?
| A: | Commodity .mp3 players and standard music tracks are not designed to mitigate high frequency dental noise. Also, typical .mp3 and other personal music players are not hygienic for use in a dental environment. |
Q: Why not use music?
| A: | The varying nature of music makes it ineffective for reliably mitigating handpiece noise. In addition, music too often only distracts the patient rather than relax and sedate.
